Chinese Basketball Association Round 16: Guangdong Southern Tigers Top Zhejiang Golden Bulls

The scorching Guangdong Southern Tigers carried on in stretching their impressive winning run as they got the better of the Zhejiang Golden Bulls with a 103-96 victory in the 16th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Sunday evening.
According to EuroBasket, the former NBA journeyman Donald Sloan poured in game-high 28 points in leading the Southern Tigers to its 13th win of the season. The ex-Brooklyn Nets guard went 7-for-13 from the two-point range and made 11-of-14 from the free throw line while playing for solid 37 minutes.

Chinese player JunFei Ren finished the game with 22 points, six assists, and two steals, while his compatriot Peng Zhou had an all-around game performance of 18 points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots, three steals, and two assists. Two-time NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer had another double-double game production of 15 markers and 10 boards for the winning team.
Local player Qian Wu paced Zhejiang with team-high 19 points, while Lu Yiwen added with 17 markers for the losing side, which suffered its 12th loss of the season.
With the victory, the Southern Tigers improved to a better 13-3 win-loss record and moved to the second-top spot in the CBA's team standing along with the Guangsha Lions, who also owns an identical 13-3 win-loss card. It was also Guangdong's 11th straight triumph after suffering their third defeat of the season against the league-leading team of Shanghai Sharks last month.
Basing from the game result in the website of NowGoal, the winning team put on an early 34-15 run during the first 12 minutes of the contest. However, the Ding Wei-headed ballclub was able to regroup and stage a 29-17 run during the second quarter of the match to cut the deficit within seven, 51-44 at the half.
The Southern Tigers have a 30-27 third quarter run and limited the opposing side to just 25 points production while they scored 22 points in final period to maintain their lead and sealed the victory.
