Thai Police have confirmed on Tuesday that a woman committed suicide on Friday by jumping into a pond full of hundreds of adult crocodiles at Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo, a park an hour-drive away from the South of Bangkok.
According to the Samut Police spokesperson, Preecha Iam-nui, 65-year-old Wanpen Inyai, stopped at a restpoint on a walkway over the 3-meter deep crocodile pit when she removed her shoes to scale the fence and leaped into the waters.

Although staff at the zoo attempted to drive away the crocodiles with long sticks to prevent them from attacking her, she was still eaten by the reptiles.
Inyai's sister told police that she had been suffering from depression and stress. In addition, the family had attempted to file a missing person's report earlier that day, but were informed that they had to wait at least 24 hours before they could proceed.
In 2002, another woman commited suicide at the same crocodile farm in the same manner in front of dozens of shocked tourists. That woman, Somjai Setabul, had left a suicide note for his loved one. However, her family claimed that she did not visibly show any sign of depression leading up to her death.
Allegedly, another suicide took place a decade before the incident. Since then, park officials have successfully been able to prevent majority of the attempted suicides over the years.
It has been observed that Thai rules are lax when it comes to visitor safety at popular tourist attractions, including tiger and crocodile exhibits. The fences at the reptile park were chest-high to allow the guests and children to feed the crocodiles.
However, the owner of the farm, Uthen Youngprapakorn, said that he has already installed additional security measures and fences along the walkways of his facility.
The Samut Prakarn Crocodile Farm and Zoo claims to be the world's biggest reptile park. According to its website, it houses over 100,000 crocodiles in its ponds.
