Media reports are suggesting that John Obi Mikel is the latest Chelsea star to head to Chinese Super League, after Oscar's sensational signing last month. The Nigerian skipper has been reportedly offered a lucrative contract by Chinese club Tianjin TEDA.
Mikel, 29, is slated for medical test on Thursday, according to reports in local English media.

However, Tianjin TEDA is not the only Chinese club that has set its eyes on Mikel. Other big Chinese clubs such as Shanghai Greenland, Guangzhou Evergrande, and Hebei China Fortune are also pursuing the Nigerian international.
Meanwhile, Mikel's agent John Shittu has categorically denied that the Chelsea midfielder has agreed on a four-year deal with Spanish club Valencia.
"It is not true that Mikel is joining Valencia on a four-year deal. The information is not correct," Shittu said.
Last week, media was buzzing with reports that the Nigerian was nearing a move to the Spanish club, after the African player expressed his desire to explore opportunities in Europe.
Mikel has been resting on the bench, ever since Antonio Conte arrived at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea's new manager. His future at Stamford Bridge also looks pretty bleak, with Conte reportedly not too excited about giving contract extension to the 29 year old. The midfielder's contract is set to expire by end of this season.
Chinese clubs are apparently having special affiliation for Chelsea players during the on-going January transfer market. After lapping up "Oscar" and pursuing "Mikel," the London-based club has also set its eyes on John Terry and Diego Costa.
