HMD Global officially launched its highly anticipated device - the Nokia 6 smartphone - in China for the price of 1,699 yuan (approximately $245 / Rs. 17,000) and will be exclusively available via JD.com. The availability of the device is only limited to the Chinese market as of now.

For those who are not familiar with HDM Global, it is the company that bagged the exclusive rights of using the Nokia brand for the next 10 years. The launch was headed by CEO of HMD Global, Arto Nummela. According to Nummela, the Nokia 6 smartphone is a result of listening to consumers who desire a beautifully crafted handset with exceptional durability, entertainment, and display features.

Talking about the specifications, the Nokia 6 smartphone sports a high-quality unibody design that comes with the anodising, crafting, and polishing of the 6000 series Aluminum. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display screen that is protected by a 2.5D Gorilla Glass on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 430 processor clocked at speed of 1.4GHz, which is coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. It is packed with 4GB of RAM onboard and 64GB of internal memory storage.

On the photography side, the Nokia 6 flaunts a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and LED flash. On the front is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens for selfies. HDM Global mentioned during the launch of the device that the Nokia 6 will come with an exclusive camera UI, which includes features such as automatic scene detection.

Nokia 6 runs on the latest Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system out of the box, which is paired with Nokia's customized user interface laid on top. It is fueled by a non-removable 3,000mAh capacity battery. Connectivity options on the device include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, 3.5mm Audio port, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port.
