Samsung Galaxy J1 4G Smartphone Launched in India at Rs. 6,890 with 4.5″ AMOLED Display and 5MP Camera

Samsung's newest budget-friendly device - the Samsung Galaxy J1 smartphone - has officially been launched in India for the price of Rs. 6,890 ($101). Although the phone was classified as entry-level device, it comes with a polycarbonate shell and packs with a decent specification.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 4G smartphone features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED WVGA display screen with a pixel resolution of 800 x 480. Under the hood, the handheld device is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC7727SE processor clocked at a speed of 1.3GHz and coupled with Mali 400 GPU for the graphics. It is packed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory storage, which can be further expanded to 128GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Talking about the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy J1 sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture support. On the front is a 2-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture. It runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) operating system out of the box, coupled with customized TouchWiz user interface laid on top. Fueling the device is a removable 2,050mAh capacity battery that can last up to an estimated 12 hours of 3G talk time and 39 hours audio playback.

Connectivity options include 4G, VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, dual SIM, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm Audio port, GLONASS, GPS, and MicroUSB 2.0 port. It also supports S Bike mode, Ultra data saving mode (UDS), and S Power Planning feature. The device measures a body dimension of 132.6 x 69.3 x 8.9 mm and weighs around 131 grams.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 will be available in Black, Gold, and White color options.
