Samsung has announced that its latest device - the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 edition smartphone - is now available outside South Korea. The smartphone is currently priced at $588 (649,000 won / Rs. 39,240) in Korea and will come in Gray, Blue, and Pink color options.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 smartphone will compete against the devices like Oppo F1S, Lenovo K5 Note, OnePlus 3, Xiaomi Mi Max, Moto G4 Plus, and few more, which come with similar specs.

Talking about the specification, the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016 edition smartphone features a 5.7-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display screen with resolutions of 1920 x 1080 pixels and 386 ppi pixel densities. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core 64-bit, 14nm Exynos 7420 processor, which is paired with Mali T760 GPU and 3GB of RAM onboard. It comes equipped with a built-in 32GB of internal memory, which can be further extended up to a maximum of 256GB via a dedicated microSD card slot.

On the photography side, the Galaxy A8 sports a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. The device runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system out of the box, coupled with Samsung's latest customized user interface laid on top. Fueling the device is a non-removable Li-Ion 3,300mAh battery.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE network with VoLTE support, NFC, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Bluetooth v4.2 LE, GPS with A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB, and GLONASS. The Samsung Galaxy J1 measures a body dimension of 156.6 x 76.8 x 7.2 mm and weighs around 182 grams.
