Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has announced that its latest device - the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone - is now available in the United Kingdom via service provider Three.

Three offers the space gray 64GB variant of the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone with an on-contract plan, which starts at  £31 ($37) per month with a £99 ($120) upfront payment. Upon availing the plan, user can get a 1GB of data allowance. In addition, consumers may also avail a data plan for £56 ($68) per month with £29 ($35) upfront fee, which includes a 30GB tethering allowance.

As for the specification, the Huawei Mate 9 smartphone features a 5.9-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display screen. Under the hood, the phone is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor clocked at a speed of 1.8GHz. It comes with a huge 4GB of RAM onboard and a 64GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 256GB via a microSD card.

The Huawei Mate 9 sports a 20-megapixel primary camera on the rear and 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) operating system out of the box. Fueling inside the handset is a non-removable 4,000mAh capacity battery.

Other features the device offers include dual SIM (GSM and GSM) that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, 3G, and 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). Sensors on the phone are Proximity sensor, Compass Magnetometer, Ambient light sensor, Accelerometer, and Gyroscope. It measures a body dimension of 156.90 x 78.90 x 7.90 mm and weighs 190 grams.

Meanwhile, interested consumers may also purchase the standalone Huawei Mate 9 smartphone on PAYG for £549.99 ($670).
