Manchester United midfielder Ashley Young has been linked to a potential transfer to the Chinese Super League. However, the England international has recently denied the rumors, saying that he is "happy" with the English Premier League side.

Young, who is also rumored to be targeted by English clubs Everton, Watford, Swansea City, and West Bromwich Albion, was recently linked to CSL squad Shandong Luneng Taishan FC for a speculated transfer fee of $12.3 million and a three-year deal worth $19.7 million.

Young is allegedly "frustrated" about his lack of playing time at the Old Trafford. He is also reportedly unhappy about United boss Jose Mourinho's preference to utilize him out of his natural midfield position in the Red Devils' defensive line.

However, ESPN reported that the 31-year-old defensive midfielder is "happy at the club" and is "content with life at Old Trafford" in spite of the small chances he has been getting under the leadership of Mourinho this season.

Young has been with the Red Devils since the summer of 2011 when he was acquired from then Premier League club Aston Villa for an estimated transfer fee of $18.5 million to $24.7 million. In five-and-a-half seasons at Manchester, he has appeared in a total of 150 games in all competitions, scoring 14 goals.

Last season, Young was fielded by former United head coach Louis van Gaal 18 times out of the team's 38 English top-flight games. This time, new coach Mourinho has used him only five times in 21 games so far in the Premier League.

Young used to be a regular at United's left flank, but the arrival of youngsters Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford pushed him back to the defensive end of the pitch. Mourinho's fondness of the young duo has made life miserable for the Englishman, but he reportedly has "no intention of uprooting his family to the Far East", according to Manchester Evening News.

The former Watford and Aston Villa midfielder has found a lot of success with United, winning a Premier League trophy, the FA Cup, and three Community Shields so far.
