There are rumors that La Liga champions FC Barcelona could sell Turkish forward Arda Turan to Guangzhou Evergrande if the Chinese Super League team can offer $32 million.

Turan, 29, who last played for the Blaugrana in January 2016, is one of the team's most prolific goalscorers despite the presence of three of the world's top footballers in the same roster; Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez, and Neymar.

This season, the Turkey international has scored 12 goals and handed six assists in a total of 22 appearances in all competitions for Barça, the best in the team outside of Messi and Suárez.

Turan was acquired by Barça in the summer of 2015 from Atletico Madrid for $44 million but was only able to suit up for head coach Luis Enrique after six months when the club's transfer ban was lifted. Despite being in top goalscoring form, he has not found enough first-team time in Enrique's rotation as he plays behind the said trio.

The Daily Mail reported that Barcelona is now ready to ship out Turan to China if the Southern China Tigers are willing to spend £26 million ($32 million) for the Turkish winger in the ongoing Winter transfer window.

After recently locking in both Suárez and Neymar with separate extensions, Barcelona is speculated to be raising funds for a contract extension for Messi and selling some of its top players is said to be one of the approaches the club is willing to take to achieve it.

However, Evergrande manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has "fiercely" denied the rumors that his club has made a big-money offer to lure Turan away from Barça, BeIN Sports reported.

The World Cup-winning head coach is said to be "frustrated" about the rumors linking the CSL champs to European signings.

"Evergrande have not made any offer for Arda Turan or any other foreign player," Scolari told a local Spanish paper.

Guangzhou has already reached the new limit of non-Asian foreign players per squad with Brazilians Paulinho, Ricardo Goulart, and Alan Carvalho plus Colombian striker Jackson Martinez. The team is reportedly not interested in adding to or releasing any of the aforementioned players.
