Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will allow club legend Wayne Rooney to move to China if the England international decides to accept a rumored $1.2 million-a-week offer from the Chinese Super League club.
Speaking to reporters after United's 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Saturday at the Bet365 Stadium, Mourinho said that he is not "critical" about football players who decide to move to China because he respects each person's decision to run his own life. He also said that it is up to Rooney to decide where he wants to spend the twilight years of his illustrious career.

Rooney scored a late free kick to help the Red Devils salvage the draw against the Potters. It was the team captain's 250th Manchester United goal, which made him break the all-time scoring record of Sir Bobby Charlton.
Mourinho said that Rooney still has a lot to offer the squad, but the United and England national team captain has "earned the right to decide where he wants to play in the future" and so he will not "stand in the way" of his decisions, ESPN reported.
"I think he still has more to give us, but you reach a certain level in his career when it is up to him," said Mourinho. "Could anyone be critical with Zlatan (Ibrahimović) last summer if he decided to go to China or the US? Could anyone be critical with one guy with such an amazing career? No, and I think with Wayne it is the same. He owns his life, he owns his career. It's him, his family and his decision."
The goal was only the second in 16 appearances in the English top-flight for Rooney this season after Mourinho removed him from United's starting XI. Rooney reportedly wants his "starting place back" and is ready to fight for it moving forward, according to the Mirror.
"I just have to keep going," Rooney said. "Obviously I've been a bit in and out of the team this season, so my main priority now is to fight for my place in the starting line-up."
"I want to win my place back. I've been in and out of the team and I need to keep trying to perform and score to stay in the team," he added.
