Chinese Basketball Association: Xinjiang Flying Tigers Avenged First Loss Against Shanghai Sharks to Return on top

League powerhouse Xinjiang Flying Tigers immediately return back to their winning ways after suffering their sixth loss of the season in the previous round in the expense of the top-ranked team of the Shanghai Sharks in the 31st round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) on Tuesday night.

According to Sina, Chinese young center Zhou Qi and former Brooklyn Nets player Andray Blatche helped the Urumqi-based basketball club beat the league leaders Shanghai with a 109-95 win. The two top players of the Flying Tigers both finished the game in double-double production.
Zhou, who was a second round draft pick of the Houston Rockets in the 2016 NBA Draft, poured in with team-high 21 points and 16 rebounds to go along with three big blocked shots while Blatche contributed with 20 markers and 20 boards. American-Bulgarian point guard Darius Adams added with 20 points.
With the victory, the Flying Tigers improved to a better 25-6 record and moved to share the top spot of the team standings with the Yao Ming-owned basketball outfit, who suffered their second straight setback and the team's sixth loss of the regular season.
The win also avenged Xinjiang's initial defeat against the Sharks when they loss with a lopsided 122-97 beatdown in the CBA's 12th round last November 30.
Frenchman power forward Guerschon Yabusele paced Shanghai with 30 points while the league's current leading scorer Jimmer Fredette had 25 points.
According to Asia-Basket, The Flying Tigers will be facing the team of the Fujian Sturgeons in the next round on February 5. The Sturgeons currently ranks 16th in the league's table having a 9-22 win-loss card. Fujian recently loses to the defending champions Sichuan Blue Whales 115-111.
Meanwhile, in the other matches, the Tianjin Gold Lions defeated Guangdong Southern Tigers 132-122, Guangzhou Long-Lions surrendered to the Beijing Ducks 76-86, the Bayi Rockets beat Jilin Northeast Tigers 97-87 and the Shandong Golden Stars overpowered Shenzhen New Century Leopards 117-106.
