Chinese Basketball Association: Liaoning Flying Leopards Snap Xinjiang Flying Tigers’ Winning Streak

After an impressive seven-game winning streak, the league's second-leading team, Xinjiang Flying Tigers, suffered their sixth defeat of the season in the Chinese Basketball Association on Sunday evening.

Third-ranked Liaoning Flying Leopards defeated the Hongshan Arena-homed basketball squad with a 106-100 win to claimed their 23rd win in 30 matches played this season.

Veteran Lester Hudson poured in 33 points to lead the Flying Leopards to the victory. The two-time CBA Foreign MVP also posted four rebounds and three steals during the game.

Chinese star Guo Ailun had a near triple-double game of 19 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists while teammate Han Dejun finished the game with a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds. American import Shavlik Randolph added 15 points and 10 boards.

According to Sina, the Flying Leopards built an early ten-point lead at the beginning of the match as Lian Ming and Liu Zhixuan connected three three-pointers. The Flying Tigers, however, trimmed down the gap to five points as the opening quarter ended.

In the second quarter, Xinjiang staged a 10-0 run to take the lead. However, with the help of Lester Hudson and Han Dejun, the Mingshan District, Benxi-based club fought back and established another nine-point lead, 53-44, entering the third quarter of the game.

According to NowGoal, Xinjiang committed too many errors and entered the final quarter trailing by 10 points following Liaoning's 30-29 run.

Hudson helped the Flying Leopard stretch their lead further as he scored his fifth three-pointers of the game, giving Lioaning a 15-point advantage in the final period.

Xinjiang rallied and managed to cut Lioaning's lead to six points with a 27-23 fourth quarter outburst, but with a little time remaining, the Flying Tigers still lost the game.

Andray Blatche paced Xinjiang with 27 points while Darius Adams had 16 markers.
