Victoria's Secret is slated to open its first full assortment stores in China. Its parent company L Brand will initially kick off one store in Shanghai and another in Chengdu, and will be opened in the first quarter this year.

Sources reveal that Victoria's Secret's first Shanghai store will be opened in less than two weeks, although an email from the Ohio-based lingerie brand to China Daily said "We have not announced an opening date" yet.

Nevertheless, officials from the city's Huangpu district, where the flagship store will be located, are thrilled as the world's sexiest brand will undoubtedly cause much interest to the local market. The stir is expected to help boost the district's other commercial establishments, China Daily reported.

"Victoria's Secret store, together with some other new commercial projects to be launched this year, will reinvigorate the commerce environment of Huaihai Road and help it to restore its former glory," Chen Yong, director of the Commission of Commerce for Huangpu district, said.

Victoria's Secret currently has 20 'concept stores' in the mainland, where limited items like accessories and beauty products are offered. Its lingerie items are also only available online via Alibaba and Tmall. In March 2016, L Brands announced its plan to expand its China market, selling its core lingerie collections.

Excited already? You better be since Victoria's Secret Angels, the brand's celebrated models, will be flying to Shanghai for the opening, and the glamorous Victoria's Secret Annual Show will also likely to take place in the city.
