GoPro has announced its partnership with Huawei to bring its intelligent video editor Quik to P10 devices.
The intelligent video editor Quik will be pre-installed within the photo Gallery on Huawei P10 and HuaweiP10 Plus smartphones, making it the main editing solution for the Huawei users. The goal of the app is to encourage Huawei users to purchase the company’s cameras and shot capture videos that can be edited within the app itself.

Quik helps in creating videos in seconds easily. It also analyzes photos and video clips to find the best moments, generating a video complete with transitions and effects synchronized to music that users will include. The video editor app offers slow motion effects, filters and more to customize the video.
“The Quik app transforms your smartphone photos and videos into amazing edits with the press of a button. We're excited to partner with Huawei to bring GoPro's Quik app to HUAWEI P10 and HUAWEI P10 Plus devices, amongst others, providing them with a quick and easy way to share compelling stories on-the-go,” said GoPro Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman.
The latest partnership of GoPro with Huawei is a marketing strategy to boost brand presence and sales in China as it is experiencing a decreasing demand in the United States.
GoPro has a pretty good reputation and history with regards to videos and Huawei’s new line up devices launched during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 will benefit from the editing app. Moreover, partnering with Huawei means international growth for GoPro.
According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Huawei’s products and services are sold in more than 170 countries and its smartphones rank third in global mobile phone shipments
According to GoPro, Quick was downloaded over 12 million times in 2016 and has more than 13 million monthly active users. It has also over one million daily active users on both Android and Apple devices.
