The Xinjiang Flying Tigers and Guangdong Southern Tigers are looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the CBA Semifinals in their respective matchups. Game 3 of the Best of 7 series matchups is on Wednesday, March 15.

Xinjiang used a big third quarter in Game 2 to take a 2-0 lead over the Liaoning Flying Leopards. Naturalized Filipino star Andray Blatche put up 29 points, 13 rebounds, five assists, and one steal. Li Gen added 20 points, two rebounds, and three assists in the 102-90 win, according to Real GM.

2016 NBA draft pick Zhou Qi had 19 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks in 40 minutes. Lester Hudson led Liaoning with 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists, four steals, and one block. Three more players scored in double figures for the visitors, but it was not enough to get the victory.

It was a better game for Liaoning than their 118-93 loss. They had a really good start in Game 2 against the Flying Tigers as they led by 11 in the first quarter. However, Xinjiang was able to tie the game in the second quarter, and they used a 10-0 run to take control of the game.

The next three games will be played at the Benxi Stadium in Benxi, Liaoning. The CBA semifinals has a 2-3-2 format, but Xinjiang can close it out by winning the next two games.

On the other hand, the Guangdong Southern Tigers also increased their chances of making it into the CBA Finals by taking a 2-0 lead over Shenzhen New Century Leopards. Former NBA point guard Donald Sloan led Guangdong in the 98-88 win with 28 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists, Xinhua reported.

Zhou Peng put up 22 points, six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block while former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer added 16 points off the bench. Boozer played well as the substitute for Yi Jianlian, who finished with just 13 points and eight rebounds.

Former NBA veteran Jeremy Pargo led Shenzhen with 23 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Three other Leopards players scored in the double figures, but the eight-time CBA champions had too much firepower.

Game 3 between Guangdong and Shenzhen is on March 15 at the Shenzhen Universiade Sports Centre in Longgang, Shenzhen. The Guangdong Southern Tigers are looking to win their record ninth CBA title this season.
