Guangzhou Evergrande manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has recently denied rumors that he is considering retirement following fake news that one of his relatives is sick and he needs to go back to Brazil to tend it.
The South China Morning Post reported that the 68-year-old World Cup-winning head coach "strongly" refuted the rumors, saying that he is still "working with this team" that won the Chinese Super League title six straight times.

"First of all, I am still working with this team and you can see it in today's training," said Scolari, who had taken over the reins in Guangzhou since the summer of 2015.
There were rumors that Scolari is set to get sacked last season after the team was eliminated in the group stage of the 2016 AFC Champions League competitions with former manager Marcello Lippi as the successor. However, with Lippi deciding to accept the China PR job, Evergrande signed Scolari to a one-year extension last October.
Scolari excused himself from a post-match interview following his squad's Champions League victory over Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale. He apologized to the reporters and said that he has to abruptly leave to take care of a "family member's health condition".
Some reports said to have sensationalized the incident which led to rumors that this could be Scolari's last season as the Southern China Tigers' head coach.
"It is completely untrue," he said, as per the Daily Mail Online. "I don't know what the intention was behind this fake news. I have to repeat that my contract with Evergrande is due until the end of this year and I have the option of a one-year extension."
"I love my job in Guangzhou, and I love my players. My family in Brazil don't need me to quit my work here to take care of them at home," he added. "It is normal that I take some holidays back in Brazil, and I haven't seen my wife for four or five months. I went back and brought them to Guangzhou, that's it. I believe I will spend more time here."
