OnePlus has launched software updates for OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T, offering the Open Beta for users who want to try new features and improvements before they are delivered to the general public.

The update is OxygenOS Open Beta 13 for the OnePlus 3 and Open Beta 4 for the OnePlus 3T. The company said that the 4th Open Beta build will bring new set of features that many OnePlus 3 and 3T owners did not expect to come so soon.

The new updates start with new UI for launcher settings as well as redesigned app drawer, and an automatic Night Mode. Also, there are status bar icon to see the real time network speed, Gaming Do Not Disturb mode, Notification Denoising, support for shortcuts on Android 7.1.1, and a Secure Box for file encryption, which is only PIN-secured for now but it can have fingerprint support at a later date. 

Moreover, it includes optimizations in touch latency and in video EIS. Linking and merge functions for contacts management have been improved, adding QR-based quick pay feature for Indian users that turns a long press of the home button into a payment shortcut.

Several bug fixes and general improvements have been implemented along with the update. The changelog of the latest OxygenOS beta includes a lot of new features alongside the usual bug fixes and general improvements.

If users are already already running the OnePlus's Open Beta built on their OnePlus 3 or OnePlus 3T smartphone devices, the update will arrive on over-the-air (OTA) for the latest version. If not, users need to enroll in the program; they need to manually flash the update to their devices. Once the users migrated to Open Beta OTAs, they will no longer receive the regular official stable builds.
