Parents of George Clooney's Fiancée Are Paying For Their Wedding, He Seeks Political Career

Despite having a net worth of over US$180 million, George Clooney isn't paying for his wedding to Amal Alamuddin. Instead, Alamuddin's parents are shelling out the big bucks for the event.
Alamuddin's parents, Ramzi and Baria Alamuddin, an editor at Lebanese newspaper Al-Hayat, insisted on paying for the shindig because they are "old fashioned with it comes to these things".

Aside from having the benefit of not spending for the wedding, a source claimed that marrying Alamuddin may be the actor-director's ticket to winning the mayorship in California. Democrats have said to have taken an interest in the performer because Alamuddin gave him the political cred he lacked, despite his obvious activism and his active participation in humanitarian efforts.
According to the source, "Democrats are looking for the perfect successor to [current governor Jerry Brown], and George is interested. They are thrilled George is going to be married, because they think a married George will be taken a whole lot more seriously than perpetual-bachelor George."
Some speculate that his political ambitions may be what triggered Clooney to propose to Alamuddin after only six months of courtship.
"He has big ambitions and aims to get into politics imminently. Now that he has Amal by his side it will give him more credibility to run for office," a source shared.
The actor is said to be getting ready to jump start his political career by actively campaigning for the Democratic party in the upcoming 2016 presidential election.
People are speculating that Clooney and Alamuddin will be tying the knot on September 27.
What is for sure is that the ceremony will be held in Italy and that Clooney will be providing tons of his own tequila brand to guests.
Days before the wedding, the actor-director took to the stage to fawn over his bride-to-be, saying "
"I met my bride-to-be here in Italy, and I will be married soon, in Italy, in a couple of weeks. In Venice, of all places. Also, I guess in closing that I would just like to say to my bride-to-be Amal that I love you very much, and I can't wait to be your husband. Thank you very much."
