According to Indonesian authorities, the Bali "suitcase murder" has finally been resolved after a U.S. citizen admitted to committing the crime, reports state.
An American man confessed to killing his girlfriend's mother at a luxury resort in Bali last month. The girlfriend also admitted that she helped the man stuff her mother's body inside the suitcase.

The victim, who was identified as Sheila von Wiese Mack, suffered severe bodily injuries prior to being stuffed inside the suitcase. Reportedly, the suitcase containing the 62-year-old woman's body was left at a taxi booth fronting an exclusive resort in the Nusa Dua area of the island.
Meanwhile, authorities identified the suspects as Tommy Schaefer and Heather Mack. The two had been staying with the victim but later transferred to another location after the murder.
The victim and the suspects are all from Chicago and had traveled to Bali for a vacation.
Schaefer and Mack were caught the next day after the incident and are currently in custody of the Indonesian police. If found guilty of the crime, both suspects could face the death sentence for premeditated murder.
Denpasar Police Chief Djoko Heru Utomo said on Friday that the two had already confessed their participation in the crime during the initial questioning. Authorities also stated that they have strong evidence against the two.
According to Utomo, 21-year-old Schaefer confessed to killing the victim following an argument while 19-year-old Mack admitted to watching her boyfriend kill her mother and to helping him stuff the dead body inside the suitcase.
However, the pair will not be charged with a crime until court proceedings begin. This would be according to the legal system of Indonesia that stipulates suspects should first appear in court before they are officially indicted.
Once Indonesian authorities complete their probe and compile their evidence, all of which have to be passed on to prosecutors, the court hearing will then begin.
