Using Remote Play, it can stream PS4 games from one PS4 console in a home onto a separate TV that the PS TV is connected to.
Sony is planning to include PlayStation Now, its streaming game service, to PS TV to allow users to watch PS3 game titles using the device. Currently, PS Now is on open beta for PS3. No confirmed date yet for inclusion in PS TV.
Sony also said that its PST TV line-up will pursue expansion with other popular gaming titles like Minecraft.
Upon the launching of PS TV on October 14 in North America, consumers can purchase a standalone system for US$99. They can also buy the special bundle including a wireless DualShock 3 controller, an 8 GB memory card and a copy of The Lego Movie Video Game for just US$140.
The company also said the PS TV bundle is time limited and available at Walmart.
The bundle costing US$140 includes the DualShock 3 controller, 8 GB memory car, and a copy of Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time.
