Sony Pulls Plug on PlayStation TV in Japan

Japanese multinational company Sony has announced that it is pulling the plug of its PlayStation TV service in Japan. The device, also known as PlayStation Vita TV, was launched in 2013. Sony said that it will cease shipping the hardware by the end of February. It is still unknown whether Sony will halt the shipment of the microconsole in regions outside of Japan.

Japan-based tech giant Sony announced during its Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) press conference on Monday that it will launch the PlayStation TV game console in the US and Canada this coming fall with a $99 price tag.
