Huawei Prime E5878: World’s Thinnest 4G LTE Mobile WiFi Unveiled

Chinese telecom and mobile broadband company Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. recently unveiled the world's thinnest LTE-supported Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, the Prime E5878.

The Prime E5878 will first be available in the Middle East and Europe.

"Huawei has launched a new chapter in the mobile broadband landscape with Huawei Prime's outstanding design language." said Liang Qinghai, senior industrial designer of Huawei's Mobile Broadband and Home Devices.

The mobile Wi-Fi sports an elegant and ultra-thin stylish design with an OLED screen display.

Huawei incorporated symmetrical dual lenses into its screen that resists cracks and scratches.

Prime runs on a HiSilicon A9 dual-core chipset and supports LTE Cat4 connection powered by a 1900 mAh battery. It delivers download speed of up to 150 Mbps and lets users connect up to ten devices.

The mobile uses Nano Molding Technology or NMT that integrates both polymer and metal, making it thinner at 7.5 mm.

The Chinese company said the mobile can remain online in LTE mode for up to eight hours.

Users will have the ability to control the device remotely by using Huawei's Mobile Wi-Fi app available in most app stores.

The mobile comes in white and black, and other customized versions that include peach pink, sunny gold, turquoise green with texture effects.

"Huawei Prime features a new minimalist design to make it the latest must-have fashion statement for style conscious young social networkers and tech lovers." said Liang Qinghai.
