GoPro To Hit Best Buy Shelves for Early Holiday Treats

Leading camera maker GoPro has announced its latest line of video cameras will be available at Best Buy retail stores starting Oct. 5.

The major merchandising rollout will showcase cheaper and fancier Hero4 goods ahead of the holiday season as GoPro cut the price of its cheapest camera from US$200 to US$129. The company has also refreshed parts of the entire Hero4 lineup, making it more appealing as holiday presents.

Buyers have ro spend a bit more on GoPro's high-end versatile cameras capable of shooting HD videos at higher frame rates.

For a price of US$399, the Hero4 Silver will offer a maximum of 1080p HD resolution at up to 60 frames per second. The silver edition has also a touchscreen display cam can be regarded a big gift for any average action-photography enthusiast.

Meanwhile, the Hero4 Black edition targets the wishlists of GoPro's most serious users. The action camera has features that can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second and can acquire Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections at a price of US$499.

The newly introduced and highly anticipated Hero4 deals will showcase Sunday in over 500 Best Buy locations and on the retailer's website.

Best Buy, the world's largest consumer electronics retailer, has been trading GoPro products since 2010. With the latest move, GoPro will triple its presence within the retailer's stores.

"This expansion will provide GoPro with a significant increase in shelf space from one of our biggest retail partners," said Jonathan Harris, vice president for international sales,. "We're excited to offer our customers a more compelling experience."

Additional perks will include more camera facings and additional accessories, giving Best Buy customers a better shopping experience this holiday season with GoPro products.
