A judge issued the permanent restraining order against Prokop on Monday, October 6.
The provisions of the law require Prokop to stay 100 yards away from Sarah Hyland and her property, her workplace and her dog, Barkley Bixby. Prokop is also prohibited from owning or possessing a gun or any form of ammunition. He is banned from attacking, threatening, or causing any harm to the dog.
The judge's order is said to be in force for the next three years.
The drama surrounding the two started after Hyland went to court to obtain a restraining order against Prokop after he allegedly choked her, pushed her and threatened her life.
Hyland also mentioned that Prokop often called her derogatory names in private as well as in public during the duration of their relationship.
Hyland suffered injuries from his attack and claimed that Prokop did not stop abusing her even though her "Modern Family" co-star, Julie Bowen, saw what he was doing to her.
