Researchers from the Institute of Education in London have unanimously agreed that students from Chinese families are far more high- achieving in their studies than their international counterparts in Western school systems.
A study conducted by the Institute showed that factors such as hard work and parental guidance contributed a great deal in the Chinese pupils' success in their academic life.

The study examined why the kids of Chinese and other Asian migrants are so bright and usually outshine the pupils of other ethnic groups academically.
Data from the Australian school system was utilized by researchers to look at 15-year-old Chinese pupils' exam results which were some of the best test results in the world.
The high performance rating of pupils of Chinese and Asian descent has been hailed in the international education community and has become a feature of international academic comparison.
According to the researchers, Chinese students have dominated international academic rankings such as the Pisa tests.
The study examined the math test results of 14,000 Australian students in the Pisa tests and showed that the pupils from Chinese and East Asian families outscored them and performed better even than other children of other migrants such as from the UK.
The research said that there is no simple explanation for this high performance rate amongst Chinese pupils, although family background and parental involvement in the choice of education by their parents have a tremendous impact on their successful academic outcome.
One of the biggest factors for the success of Chinese pupils, as the research has shown, was that East Asian families, mostly Chinese, Japanese, and South Koreans are successful in investing in the best possible education for their children, enrolling them in top-tier schools.
The study said the children of East Asian and Chinese families have the advantage of producing the best academic results when enrolled in good schools.
The research also said that the study habits of Chinese pupils are way better than their Australian peers. These children put in extra six hours for their study every day compared to the Australian pupils.
Chinese pupils as well as the other students of Asian countries were also more likely to believe that they could succeed if they work hard enough in their studies.
