Colin Kaepernick, the star quarterback of the NFL's San Fancisco 49ers has come under fire from the leagie after continuing to wear Beats headphones at press conferences. The NFL has fined the quarterback $10,000 for wearing Beats by Dre at a post-game press conference on Sunday.
The NFL recently signed a deal with rival headphone maker Bose, which bars Beats from appearing at stadiums and in post-game interviews/press conferences. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The pink Beats by Dre headphones are presumably for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Kaepernick endorses Beats, and the issue may not end with the fine. It's unlikely Beats would let its poster boy pay the fine out of his own pocket, particularly with all of the free publicity the company is getting out of this.
Beats by Dre has been banned from events before, but the company has players and celebrities connected to the brand. The $3 billion acquisition from Apple has put them in an even easier position when it comes to fines and bans.
In the war for the indirect advertising, Beats by Dre may pull ahead of Bose simply through controversy. This $10,000 fine is sure to turn a few heads, unlike Bose's latest attempts at advertising their headphones on the NFL.
The $10,000 fine may increase if Kaepernick has multiple fines, we may even see the NFL enact some sort of ban on the player. Beats by Dre was unavailable to comment on the fine. Kaepernick has not commented on the matter.
