Hwang Pyong So, the senior official who was one of the three leaders of North Korea who flew to South Korea for the closing of the Asian Games, has now risen to two of the most important roles in the government amid speculation on Dictator Kim Jong Un's hiatus.
Hwang's position as the major military aid was deemed questionable since he started as an employee in a lowly desk job but has now become one of the most powerful men in Kim's regime. The media and the international community outside of NoKor is now focused on Hwang.

Hwang, who is either 64 or 65 year old, is reportedly part of the Organization and Guidance Department (OGD), which claims to be the organization truly in charge of Pyongyang as reported by rebel Jang Jin-Sung.
OGD is a powerful and private part of the government system of NoKor as its members are the ones who finalize what the leader does during negotiations and meetings. This was according a statement released by North Korea experts and the Unification Ministry of South Korea.
The OGD was headed by the late Kim Jong Il but has now been controlled by Hwang since Kim's father died. Kim took his father's place in 2012 and Hwang, who became his adviser, eventually became the chief of the General Political Bureau earlier this year.
Hwang's position as the vice chairman of the National Defense Commission is also being questioned. Jang said that it is highly unusual for a veteran official to be appointed to such prominent positions.
On the other hand, unnamed sources close to the administration say Hwang was promoted to the said posts because Kim was impressed with his dedication and the quality of his work.
