Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said in a press conference held Sunday that the health worker, who contracted Ebola at the time of Thomas Duncan's death, might have breached health and safety protocols.
The health aide was not identified but CDC director Dr Tom Frieden cautioned that "a single inadvertent slip can result in contamination." He added that Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas allows health workers to conduct minimum and priority procedures for the patient.

To control the contamination, CDC ordered full scale education campaign amongst health workers in the facility. Frieden also warned them against further contraction of Ebola though they have already released a statement expressing their confidence in disease containment.
The investigation shall cover the origin of the infection, procedures that could have transferred the virus such as dialysis and intubation, as well as the manner of removing safety gears.
However, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr Anthony Fauci suggested that the breach is most likely an innocent one that might have transpired even when the health worker was wearing protective suit.
In an interview with CBS' Face the Nation, Frieden said that health workers are required to self monitor and self isolate on the first symptoms of Ebola to avoid spreading the virus to the public.
The first American case diagnosed with Ebola, Thomas Eric Duncan, died on October 8 after weeks of battling the virus. He was also given brincidofovir, an experimental antiviral drug designed to cure common viruses and is also given to patients undergoing bone marrow transplant.
In Spain, a similar case of infected nursing aide was reported to have touched the hand of an Ebola case while removing safety gears. Health authorities are currently conducting investigation on the matter.
