Along with New York and Los Angeles police officials, the L.A. County Sheriff's Department has joined in on the investigation that surrounds actor Stephen Collins who allegedly abused minor girls around 30 years ago.

Although the former "7th Heaven" actor has yet to be charged, one of his victims has approached the LASD to report what had happened to her in the hands of Collins decades ago.

An LASD spokesperson shared, "The allegation was first reported to the Los Angeles Police Department on Thursday, October 9, 2014, and was forwarded to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department for investigation. The victim, who was 13 years old at the time of the incident, reported the event that occurred in the summer of 1983."

Amidst current investigations and allegations of molestation, the 67-year old's former "7th Heaven" cast mate Kyle Searles maintains that he thought Collins was an "overall good guy" and not an "overly private person who would lead you to believe he was capable of such things that came out recently."

Searles, who played the character Mac, was involved with the now-defunct show from 2004 to 2007. The 29-year old is now working in real estate and is no longer in showbiz.

The former actor shared that he felt compelled to speak up about his former colleague because he felt it was important for the public to know what kind of person Collins was before the allegations came out.

Searles shared that he thought that Collins was a "very engaging" person, so when news came out that he had molested minor girls in the past, he shared that he started questioning if he was a good judge of character, saying, "'I don't know what's real anymore. Is my judge of character that poor?' Then I thought, 'I couldn't be the only one who thought Stephen was a great guy.' "
