Chinese Firm Unveils Motion Sensing Internet Camera

Chinese smartphone developer Elephone recently unveiled a new cylindrical device called the Elephone TV Box.
Elephone plans to launch the TV Box on Oct. 15. The device costs only US$79.99.
The Elephone TV Box is a cylindrical device that runs the Android Kitkat 4.4.2 operating system. The unique feature of the device is its ability to detect motion using a built-in 5 megapixel auto-focus sensing camera.

Users can leave the camera on while away from home. If the camera detects movement in the house, it automatically records the scene and sends a message to the user's phone.
Users can also use the device to look after their babies while they prepare food or take care of the chores.
The Elephone TV Box sports an exterior transparent protective shield and a colorful stylish logo design on the front.
The device comes with a high-definition camera atop and a portable remote control. It packs a Rockship RK3188 processor along with 1 GB of RAM.
According to the company's official website, the device connects to the internet and enables users to download applications. It can plug into a high definition TV and lets users to stream videos over the web.
Users can insert a Micro SD card to view media and use Miracast to display photos. They can also play video games using Wi-Fi connectivity via smartphones and tablets.
The Shenzhen-based company, which was established in 2006, reportedly developed the new device to diversify its range of products.
The company places emphasis on research and development for mobile communication.
