Bono Finally Reveals Why He Always Wears Sunglasses

Bono is not only known for his musical talents, he is also known for his signature look--his sunglasses.
Now the singer reveals that the sunglasses are not for vanity, affectation or fashion, but because he has been suffering from Glaucoma, a condition that affects sights in different degrees. The illness is usually caused by a build-up of pressure in the eye, it develops when the eye cannot drain its fluids properly which sometimes creates watery or misty eyes.

He admitted to having the illness during a guest spot at 'The Graham Norton Show,' after the host asked if he ever takes off his glasses. Bono answered the question by saying, "I guess this is a good place to say to everyone that I have been suffering with Glaucoma for the last 20 years." The singer then added that he has been getting treatments and that he is going to be fine and will not at anytime soon go blind.
In the past, the singer claimed that he wears sunglasses because he is very sensitive to light and in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2005, he was quoted saying, "If someone takes a photograph, I will see flashes for the rest of the day because my right eye swells up."
Bono also addressed the critism U2 received for automatically uploading U2's latest album to iTunes libraries by saying "We wanted to do something fresh and now all those people who were not interested in U2 are now mad at U2 which is an improvement."
