Dropbox has announced its second update to iOS8, adding a new level of security with Touch ID and new size benefits for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
File-hosting service Dropbox has announced a new level of security to their iOS app after millions of its users' accounts were recently compromised. The new 3.5 update will be available on Monday and offers Touch ID support, alongside new updated sizes for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

Touch ID support will be available to all iOS8 users on iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2. Users on iOS7 will not be able to use the Touch ID functionality, due to the developer kit only being available on iOS8 for third parties.
To set-up Touch ID on Dropbox, go into Settings and then Passcode. The feature will allow users to safeguard folders and files with a fingerprint, and Dropbox will use fingerprints already saved onto the device.
Dropbox has added this feature after a reported 7 million Dropbox accounts and passwords were leaked, raising concern that the cloud service might not be as safe as once thought, but Dropbox denies the claims they were hacked.
Apple's Touch ID has been improved on with iOS8, adding new levels of functionality and making it easier to add multiple prints. The addition of third party support has allowed apps like Facebook, Dropbox, 1Password and more to use Touch ID, instead of pass-codes.
Touch ID utilizes the security of Apple's own hardware chips to make sure all information is secure. According to Apple's Phil Schiller, a user's fingerprint never leaves the hardware - making it impossible for anyone else to access the phone.
This has put Apple (and Google) in hot water with authorities, over stronger encryption tactics. These new encryption solutions make it impossible without user consent to get into the smartphone and find important information about the owner
