Before Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie was married to "Elementary" actor Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.

And anyone who's old enough to remember, knows that Jolie was the much-older Thornton's fifth wife and, that Jolie seemed so obsessed and in love with her then partner of three years that they were reportedly wearing vials of each other's blood around their necks.

Thornton talked with the Hollywood Reporter and clarified the tabloid oddity regarding his relationship with Jolie whom he married only after two months of dating.

The "Monster's Ball" actor, who admitted that those days were times in his life he has "never been fond of", shared that Jolie had bought one of "lockets you buy that are clear and you put a picture of your granny in and wear it around your neck". He said that she had bought two of those lockets.

Thornton explained that because of their work, they were apart for most of their marriage. Because of the distance, Jolie thought of a way they could feel closer to each other even if they were apart.

"She thought it would be interesting and romantic if we took a little razor blade and sliced our fingers, smeared a little blood on these lockets and you wear it around your neck just like you wear your son or daughter's baby hair in one," he narrated.

No, it wasn't a quart of blood neither did they fill vials of blood to give to each other. Thornton shared that the blood they gave each other were more of smears - much like a miniscule sample of blood looked at under a microscope.

And no, they didn't suck each other's blood either. And in the place of the supposed dungeon they had in the house they used to share, turns out Thornton had a recording studio there instead.
