Apple's iPhone 6 Sales Outpace Samsung Galaxy Note 4 in South Korea

(Photo : Reuters) Apple's iPhone 6 Plus is not only the company's first phone of the iPhone 6 model that has a bigscreen but also has amazing features that are highly improved compared to iPhone 6 and other models that precedes it.
Samsung has long been the leader in the South Korean telecommunications market, with 67 percent of all smartphones in the country coming from the Chaebol. Apple, on the other hand, has a strikingly small 6 percent, which was lower than LG and Pantech in the country.
But that might change this year, with KT, LG Uplus and SK Telecom all reporting high sales for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. The three South Korean carriers all reported strong sales, with the end result after one day being more than 500,000.

Compare this to the Galaxy Note 4's 30,000 sales at the same time point, it is clear why some analysts are pointing to Apple's final push into South Korea, after years of being shrugged off by the country, in favor of their own homegrown brands.
KT were the first carrier to start selling the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, reporting 10,000 sales in 1 minute and 50,000 sales in 30 minutes. SK Telecom, the largest carrier in South Korea, gave even more praise to the early sales of the iPhone.
This is not good news for Samsung, which can normally rely on the Galaxy smartphones to come up big in South Korea. The Galaxy S5 was shunned in South Korea, in favor of the LG G3, which outsold Samsung's flagship 3 to 1 for most of the year.
Apple's offensive move against Samsung's two flagships has worked this year. The Galaxy S5 died long before Apple announced the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6 Plus appears to be more popular than the Galaxy Note 4, even in South Korea.
Combine this with the 20 million sales coming from China, and Apple has caught the Asian market by storm this year, beating Samsung in almost every sector of the mobile market.
