Motorola Droid Turbo vs. Apple iPhone 6 Plus Specs Showdown

Apple is praised for its unique approach in making smartphones. The company does not focus on specs unlike many of its competitor but it delivers quality products that aren't really revolutionary. It is the opposite of the recently announced Motorola Droid Turbo which is a very powerful and still unmatched smartphone at the moment.

Both iPhone 6 Plus and Droid Turbo are not obnoxiously large but between the two, the iPhone 6 Plus has a more compact body. The iPhone 6 Plus also has a more luxurious and premium finish because of its unibody aluminum case. Meanwhile, the Droid Turbo has a strong metal glass fiber body which could handle drops better than other handsets.

The iPhone 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution and 401 ppi while the Droid Turbo comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with QHD 1440 x 1560 pixels resolution and 565 ppi. The Droid Turbo has a quad-core 2.7 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip with 3 GB of RAM while the iPhone 6 Plus features a dual-core 1.4 GHz 64-bit Apple A8 chip.

The Motorola Droid Turbo sports a 21 megapixel rear camera with 4K video support and dual-LED flash. It also has a 2 megapixel front camera. Meanwhile, the iPhone 6 Plus comes with an 8 megapixel rear camera with digital image stabilization and dual-LED flash. Its front camera has a 1.2 megapixel quality. The Droid Turbo has a Li-Po 3900 mAh battery unit while the iPhone 6 has a Li-Po 1810 mAh battery unit.

The Motorola device runs on an upgradable Android 4.4.2 KitKat with 32 and 64 GB internal storage options OS while the iPhone 6 Plus runs on iOS 8 with 16, 64 and 128 GB storage options. Both smartphones don't have microSD card support.

The 32 GB Motorola Droid Turbo is available at Verizon for $199 under contract while the 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus costs $299 with a two-year contract.
