Comedian Kathy Griffin admitted that she was offered to co-host "Fashion Police" after the Joan Rivers passed away. The said talk show is scheduled to return on January for a new season.

However, Griffin seems to be unsure about whether to accept the gig or not. Confirming that management did indeed offer the position to her, the star shared that she isn't sure if now is the right time for her to accept the hosting job. "We'll see," she added.

E! has stated that the network is currently in talks with several people regarding the position, but that they are not yet ready to make an announcement as to who they are leaning towards.

Gossip website Page Six inferred that Griffin has been pushing for the position even before Griffin passed away - a claim vehemently denied by Griffin's rep Justin Ongert. Ongert insisted that it simply wasn't true because if it was, Griffin would have had to go through him first before she even made the attempt.

A spokesperson for E! also confirmed Ongert's claim, saying that "This is absolutely not true."

Although he network has yet to find another host for the show, "Fashion Police" co-host and a longtime friend of Rivers, Giuliana Rancic, insisted that finding another person to add to the cast is not about finding a replacement for Rivers.

Rancic shared that no one can ever replace the late comedian, saying that the move is "more about the show just being a great show and a fun show."

Rivers passed away unexpectedly last September from complications following a routine medical procedure to check for abnormalities from her vocal chords. Medical examiners concluded that the 81-year old, who had been in a coma for several days before passing away, suffered from low blood oxygen following the procedure.
