The Moto G 2014 Android 5.0 Lollipop update release is coming soon as invites for its soak test have gone out to device owners and Motorola Feedback Network members.
Moto X 2014 owners also received soak test invites for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update since last week when the release notes were leaked. The Moto G 2014 got release note leaks as well, indicating that an over-the-air rollout will likely come this week.

Recent reports have posted an early look at the Moto X 2014 running Android 5.0 Lollipop. The US-based smartphone manufacturer published the complete release notes of the Android 5.0 update but it appears that it is only a soak test which typically previews the Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade public release.
Numerous Moto X 2014 owners are already enjoying the Material Design UI and its accompanying improvements and features. Should Motorola release the Android 5 Lollipop update to all Moto X 2014 owners, it will be the first product to offer the upgrade.
If nothing wrong happens, Motorola is expected to finish testing the build in the next few days and subsequently launch a public rollout.
The Moto G 2014 and Moto X 2014 are the first two Android devices to receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update but it seems LG could beat them with the LG G3 already getting an over-the-air rollout this week.
Meanwhile, the Nexus line isn't expected to receive an over-the-air rollout until Nov. 12. The Android 5.0 Lollipop update requires 200-400 MB free storage to upgrade and optimize all apps.
