U2 was supposed to start its weeklong residency on The Tonight Show but had to postpone after poor Bono met a bike accident in Central Park and needs a surgery on his arm. The rest of the band suggest that their gig be rescheduled and assured everyone that Bono will be able to fully recover soon.

The band posted a statement on their website that they will have to do their Tonight Show residency some other time since they are one man down. They explained about Bono's biking accident although they did not reveal all the details about the surgery. They assured all their fans that as soon as Bono recovers they will be back. They also thanked Jimmy Fallon and the rest of the Tonight Show crew for understanding their current situation.
On the same week, it also happened that the door of Bono's private jet fell off while on flight from Dublin to Berlin, thankfully no passenger was injured. Then a few weeks after, it was revealed that the reason behind Bono's sunglasses is glaucoma. It appears that this guy has been having a really tough time nowadays.
But with U2 postponing their residency on The Tonight Show, who will take over their place? It has not been announced as to who will take their place but with the band residencies being currently popular lately; it's surely not going to be Metallica since they already have a schedule for a week long residency on Craig Ferguson's show.
We sure hope that Bono will have a successful surgery and that he will be able to get back with the band soon so they can finally rock The Tonight Show for a whole week.
