Black Friday - or Black Thursday for many companies this year - is now only a week away, and statistics show which retailer has the most discounted Black Friday prices.

Personal finance website WalletHub conducted a survey consisting of over 5,500 2014 Black Friday deals with ads of 22 of the most popular retailers in the U.S. and recently released the results.

According to the report, the study shows that clothing and accessories store JCPenney is leading the way among retailers offering the highest rate of overall discounted products at a total of 65 percent off usual prices.

On the other hand, membership-only department store Costco - known for their low prices - are coming in dead last with an average discount rate of 21 percent off products on Black Friday.

These statistics are all relative however, as multiple retailers are uniquely known for discounts on certain products. For example, when it comes to computers, Office Depot and OfficeMax reportedly have the highest discounts among other retailers with a rate of over 40 percent.

Macy's holds the most amount of Black Friday discounted prices on consumer electronic products with an average of 65 percent off. And Sears is the shrewdest place to shop for apparel and other accessories with an average discount rate of 69 percent.

WalletHub also says that the average rate of discounts on products during Black Friday among all 22 major retail companies is 39 percent. The finance company mentions that it's easy for consumers to fall under a retailer's Black Friday trap and to avoid purchasing items below the 39 percent discount threshold.
