President Xi Earns Lots of “Likes” on Weibo, WeChat

China's President Xi Jinping loves to eat buns in eateries and to casually chat with villagers in fields. Xi earns tons of "Likes" on Weibo and WeChat and netizens praise him by saying he's "very cute."

As ordinary people, it is very hard to have relations with state leaders. However, Chinese people see Xi as a very people-friendly leader.

Xi has visited and inspected 16 provinces since November 2012 when he took over as Communist Party Chief. He asked people, "How are you living?" When people say well, he smiles and says "We are happy when you live well." He turned up his trouser legs and held an umbrella to inspect Newport at Wuhan city. He scooped up water from water vat and drank it. He walked into alleys under smog and listened to public opinions.

The president also inadvertently becomes the best representative of food of ordinary people. Every kind of "President Xi Combo" makes a hit: Pita Bread in Lamb Soup, Chinese hamburger, assorted vegetable soup... The topic of "President Xi loves to eat home-style cooking" is very popular in Chinese social networks. Xi received national "Likes" on Weibo and WeChat.

Xi also likes to take pictures with people. He took pictures with workers in Dalian Ship building Industry Group in the rain; he said "Cheers" to take pictures with university students in Beijing Aerospace Science and Technology City. When he inspected in Beijing Nanluo Guxiang (Nanluo old lane), he actively asked residents if they would like to take pictures with him.

Many netizens post online President Xi's pictures they take. "I beg president Xi's attention to come to my hometown!" says a netizen. "Pay attentions when walking on the road, maybe Xi will pass by you someday," another netizen says.

Xi is particularly good about replying to letters. "I lived in western China before. I deeply understand the children there are eager to learn. The development there needs talents." He talked about his experience living in western China when he replied the letter from a volunteer group of Hebei Baoding Institute teaching in the West.

People always see Xi's shy smile when he talks with them. He asks people in detail, quietly listen to people and closely understand public opinions without distance. In many Chinese eyes, he is worthy of many "likes."
