Petite pop singer Ariana Grande was said to have felt upset over veteran singer Bette Midler's recent comments about her.
In an earlier interview, the 68-year old Grammy-award winning singer criticized Grande for her "ridiculous" image, sharing "It's always surprising to see someone like Ariana Grande with that silly high voice, slithering around on a couch, looking so ridiculous. I mean, it's silly beyond belief and I don't know who's telling her to do it. I wish they'd stop.

Midler continued by saying that she isn't Grande's mother or manager, so it wasn't really her business to tell the young singer how to act or dress. She did say, however, that maybe Grande was told that was how she was supposed to act or dress because "sex sells."
Aside from criticizing the young artist, the iconic singer also stated that young performers should be able to trust their talent instead of relying on selling their looks and bodies.
"You don't have to make a w***e out of yourself to get ahead," she added.
Midler shared that she just might be too old to really understand what performers today have to resort to just to get ahead. She also stated that selling sex won't be sustainable as these young performers get older.
Despite feeling offended over Midler's comments, Grande decided to respond to Midler via Twitter with a screenshot of a tweet which stated that Midler had always been a feminist who pushed for women to do what they wanted without fear of being judged.
"Not sure where that Bette went but I want that sexy mermaid back!!! always a fan no matter what my love," the statement continued.
Grande also uploaded a photo of Midler wearing a mermaid getup with the tweet, "and I will still quote first wives club every single day of my life lmao."
