North Korea revealed on Thursday that the title "Vice Department Director" has been officially given to leader Kim Jong Un's younger sister Kim Yo-Jong.

Kim Yo-Jong was rumored to be one of the closest and influential people to the leader of North Korea. She made her first public appearance during the funeral of their father, longtime dictator Kim Jong- Il, back in December of 2011. Since then, she has been seen with her brother in varying political events and field guidance trips.
The title was announced by the central committee of the ruling Worker's Party while she was accompanying Kim on a trip to a film studio that was founded by their grandfather, Kim Il-Sung.
The title of Kim's sister is said to be a senior party post and she is the only known other member of the Kim family to have an official job related to the North Korean government.
Kim Kyong Hui, the sister of the late Kim Jong Il was in charge of the senior military as well as Party positions but was not seen in public after her husband, identified as Jang Song Thaek, was eradicated last year.
Kim, her sister and their older brother Kim Jong Chol are the offspring of Kim Jong Il and his fourth partner, identified as Ko Yung Hui. All three are believed to have attended a boarding school in Switzerland. The eldest of the three does not have any known position in the government of the Kim regime.
Kim Yo-Jong was also seen publicly with Kim's wife when he disappeared from the public eye for more than a month due to unconfirmed reasons. His sister and his wife reportedly took control of the government while Kim was away.
