Sony Pictures Hackers Release Sensitive Business Information

A hacking group called GOP has hacked Sony Pictures' international computer system.
Sony Pictures is having a terrible time dealing with the hacking group #GOP after five days of downtime on the whole computer system.
The hacking group, whose name reportedly stands for Guardians of Peace, recently posted sensitive business information from the extended raid on Sony Pictures' computers. This included passwords, password hints, some Sony Pictures' actors' passports and pirated movies.

When #GOP first attacked Sony Pictures, a red skeleton showed up on all computer systems, claiming Sony needs to offer more equality or face leaked documents. Sony did not respond to the hacking group.
There is mixed reports that the leaked information could include marketing budgets for movies, actor's paychecks and other classified information.
The leaked passports and visas include those of actors Jonah Hill, Angelina Jolie and Cameron Diaz. There is another PDF file referring to Emmerich Roland's Green Card - the German film director of Independence Day and Godzilla.
The amount of raw data presented by the hacking group makes analysts question the funding. Unless Sony Pictures lacks proper cyber security, this should have never been possible.
In an interview with The Verge, one of the apparent hackers, named lena, claimed the hack worked due to internal efforts by Sony's staff. This would explain the dysfunction in all computer systems.
Sony still declines to comment on the hack, claiming they are fixing an IT system issue. This is not the first time Sony has faced a major security breach. In 2011 the PS Network was attacked and over 100 million accounts were stolen.
There has been a steady increase in hacking over the past two years, including a rise from the Syrian Electronic Army. Apple, Dropbox, Snapchat and UK webcams have all been targets this year, by different organizations.
