The National Football League's (NFL) New Orleans Saints are looking to draft a new quarterback in 2015, preparing for a time after their star quarterback Drew Brees leaves.

The 35-year old eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback has stated that if he could, he would want to play for another 10 years, given that he could. However, with the NFL Network reporting last Sunday that the Saints were already on the hunt for a new quarterback, 10 years may be a bit farfetched for Brees.

Despite the fact that the Saints are gunning for the NFC South Title and a home playoff game this year, things cannot help but seem a bit dark for the Saints who stand at 4-7 in the league.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network shed some light on the Saints' decision. He said that the team has seen Brees' arm strength weaken a little, and since he is not a big individual like Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, there are legitimate concerns as to how he will continue to age, and how it will affect his game.

"...Drew Brees is 35 years old, he's not as big as Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, and they've seen some arm strength issues that have cropped up in the last several games..." Rapoport said.

When Brees was 33-years old, he signed a five-year contract worth US$100 million, even with the fact of aging on the horizon.

Saints have been very fortunate with his signing. Since he joined as a free agent, he has never missed a game and never had a season with less than 4,300 passing yards.

While pundits, critics, and fans can argue that Drew Brees is not playing his best football this season, he is still completing 70 percent of his passes, averaging 7.6 yards per attempt.
