Americans are still up for another day of shopping this Cyber Monday despite the already long Black Friday weekend. Many are still expected to hit online shopping stores as a continuation of the country's holiday sale.

Cyber Monday, the Monday after Thanksgiving, is known for attracting millions of online shoppers since year 2010, despite the already famous Black Friday deals.

Online sellers and retailers have already been working on some month-long arrangements in preparation for the Monday sale, hence the reported decline in the Thanksgiving weekend sale this year.

ComScore, an online research company, reports that an estimated $2.5 billion will be spent by the American netizens this Cyber Monday. Much of the dollars in the U.S. seem to have migrated to the online universe, the report adds.

This is attested by some online payment platforms like PayPal. It recounts of how mobile and online payments done in its website have increased to 47% this Thanksgiving holiday deals compared with 2013's. Wal-Mart also accounted more than 500 million online page hits last Thursday alone, while eBay, on the other hand, recorded iPad Air 2 sales at 2,000 units in a single day at a rate of one unit sold per second.

It was in 2005 when Shop.org coined the term "Cyber Monday" in order to urge consumers to do their shopping online. This was encouraged to support the working class whose bargaining needs may be satisfied even when they are at work.

"Online is nowhere near its maturity, so Cyber Monday should be big," says Sucharita Mulpuru, research analyst from Forester Research. She further adds, "More consumers are spending more shopping dollars online."

Consumer after consumer would claim at how more convenient it is for them to do their shopping in the web. Jennifer Donaldson, for example, a property manager in New York, declares how she prefers the comfort of online shopping especially this holidays as against going to physical stores. "It's crowded, and usually, people are rude," ends Donaldson.
