Former Beatle Paul McCartney has received successful medical treatment at a hospital in Tokyo and will make a complete recovery after a few days rest, the singer's website announced Thursday.
McCartney earlier cancelled his five scheduled concerts in Japan and South Korea in deference to doctors' advise for him to rest following a viral infection that he had contracted.

The 71-year old singer was all set to perform in two gigs in Tokyo when he fell ill, prompting the cancellation of the two concerts. On Thursday, McCartney likewise cancelled his upcoming shows in South Korea next week.
His publicist gave a statement confirming that Paul will no longer be available to play on May 28. This would have been his first show in South Korea.
However, the US leg of McCartney's tour was expected to push through on June 14 in Lubbock, Texas.
McCartney's publicist did not disclose further information regarding his sickness and his manager was not immediately available to comment regarding the cancelled shows.
The Beatle member issued a statement where he apologized to all his Japanese fans, thanked them for their love and support, and said he hoped to see them again soon.
Paul and drummer Ringo Starr are the only remaining members of the Beatles. After the Beatles broke up in 1970, McCartney got a stint with “Wings” and launched a successful solo career.
