Xiaomi has started beta testing for the Yeelight smart lightbulb, part of Xiaomi's new smart home range.
Xiaomi is rolling out the first beta test for the Yeelight smart lightbulb, part of a range of four smart home items.
The new smart home collection will all work with Xiaomi's smart home router. The company will be choosing 50 beta testers at random - who fit the requirements - on Weibo.

Xiaomi has been rolling out small beta testing raffles over the past year, in order to gain more information on product flaws and excite the fans with new products.
Yeelight is not a Xiaomi made smart home device, HAXLR8R developed the lightbulb. The young startup has various wacky devices on its portfolio and Xiaomi like the look of the Yeelight.
In the announcement, Xiaomi did say the Yeelight beta would be available for fans of the Xiaomi smart router and actively follow news. It is not confirmed if the smart home lightbulb will work with any other router, outside of Xiaomi's own brand.
Yeelight is capable of displaying over 1,600 colors with the LED inside. Users can set different colors depending on the time of day or room in the house with a companion app.
Xiaomi is currently working to make its router the hub of the smart home world. Considering the brand appeal in China, Xiaomi could be on to a winning formula by selling different devices for the smart home.
The other devices coming to Xiaomi's smart home range include Ants smart webcam, smart power plug and smart remote center. Xiaomi will develop two of the products and will sell all of them exclusively online.
