To raise people's awareness of the amount of sugar most people consume, George Prior took a 30-day challenge of drinking 10 cans of Coca-Cola every day.
Each 355mL can contains about 39 grams of sugar. Too much intake of sugar is harmful to the body as it can damage organs, lead to obesity and cause many serious diseases.

After 30 days, 50-year-old George Prior gained 23 pounds. His blood pressure went from 129/77 to 145/96. He said that he developed a "craving for Cokes, or other sugars."
He also mentioned "a lot of visits to the restroom, a feeling of constant fullness, and a clutter of cans everywhere."
Consuming too much sugar made him very full, leaving no room for more healthy foods. While he was too full to eat other foods, he also craved more sugar. And as soon as he stopped drinking the cokes, he lost five pounds in just four days. It may take him a while to recover and go back to being that healthy muscular man he had been.
To metabolize sugar, the body uses other nutrients from different parts of the body. When too much nutrients are used, the body organs will suffer.
An example of this is diabetes, a common disease associated with high sugar consumption. When sugar rises rapidly, the pancreas fails to produce enough insulin and it gets worn out.
In 2004, Morgan Spurlock also conducted an experiment in a similar way. He ate nothing but fast food meal from McDonald's for 30 days. He gained 24 pounds after the challenge, with a 13 per cent increase in his body mass.
All those changes in his body happened in just a month but his body became normal again after 14 months.
Prior conducted the experiment to "get people thinking and talking about how much sugar they eat and how unhealthy it is."
Soft drinks may be the opposite of hard drinks like alcoholic beverages but drinking too much of both kind of drinks end up the same-it harms out body more as we crave for more.
