After Psy's "Gangnam Style" reached a total of 2 million views in June of this year, the music video has set another record in YouTube's history - it reached the limits of the social media's view counter.

A representative from YouTube confirmed this feat through an update posted on Wednesday, Dec. 3. He mentions that the K-pop icon literally maxed out the site's capacity for views and because of this, the YouTube video counter is now in need of technical resolving and fixing. It has been estimated that the repair may not take more than a week.

To date, "Gangnam Style" has already acquired a total of more or less 2.152 billion views which astonishingly outdid the site's set view limit of 2,147,483,447. This has been an object of misunderstanding for some as they question the existence of such boundary considering the vastness of the Internet.

Engineers who design systems like YouTube, however, can attest to the impossibility if an infinite memory that can accommodate unlimited inputs. Storages have their maximum capacity and the storage center of the site is no different. A 32-bit integer governs YouTube and therefore also has its own edge ad border.

A YouTube official says, "We never thought a video would be watched in numbers greater than a 32-bit integer, but that was before we met Psy."

The song "Gangnam Style" was released in July 2012 and its trivial dance steps have captured the curiosity of many. The song and the moves that come with it have constantly filled parties and events and have become popular among television shows and movies all around the world.

The Gangnam King has become popular since. His other songs like "Gentleman" and "Hangover" (a collaboration with master rapper Snoop Dog) has had their own share of popularity in the online world.
