Like a scene from an action movie, there was a chase on the streets of Mathura before cab driver Shiv Kumar Yadav was arrested on Sunday for the rape of a 25-year-old female executive who rode his taxi on Friday night.
The Delhi Police offered a Rs 1 lakh reward for tips on the location of Yadav. The offer of a reward paid-off because the police received a tip that Yadev, accompanied by a friend, was going to a safer hideout after collecting money.

Yadav, however, saw the cops and ran through Mathura streets to escape the pursuing teams who split into three directions to corner him. The cab driver entered an unlocked house to find out if he could hostage its occupant, but the team led by SHO Anil Dureja broke open the door and subdued the rape suspect to the floor, reports the Times of India.
However, while he reportedly admitted to raping his female passenger, Yadev was not sorry for what he did. He was quoted as saying, "I committed a mistake. What do I do now?"
The victim, an employee of a finance company in Gurgaon district, hailed Yadev's cab, which is listed with rideshare service Uber, to bring her home to the Inderlok area in north Delhi. She fell asleep on the drive home, but when she woke up, she discovered they were in a secluded area and the cab doors were locked.
Yadev allegedly hit her and then raped the victim. After the sexual assault, he dropped her near her residence in Inderlok with the threat not to tell anyone what happened or he will kill her, reports Xinhuanet.
The Delhi Police said that Yadev lacked a public service verification badge. They informed Uber of the arrest of the cab driver who had been driving a taxi for a living for several years to support his wife, two daughters and a stepson.
